Crackers, Cheerios, & Puffs…OH MY!

09/03/2009

I’ve heard stories of babies putting food in their diapers as they learn to hide things…I never thought that my daughter would do that. I knew that when I put pants on her that she knew how to put things in her pockets or her shape blocks in her hoodie pocket, just not put things in her diaper. Being that it is still pretty warm in our home, even without the heat, I usually let her run around in her diaper. For the first few weeks, it was a battle to keep her diaper on. I would put her in a playpen so I could get some stuff done around the house and I would turn away for not even a minute, and she would have that diaper off. Now I can’t get her to sit still so I can change the diaper. Today I found out why. She had a good quarter of a cup of cheerios stashed in her diaper. Along with bits of her cracker and her Gerber puff snacks. I couldn’t stop laughing, in turn Kylie joined in the hysterics and then proceeded to crawl away from me…completely naked..lol. It’s definitely a workout trying to chase a naked giggling baby around the house without tripping over her. Everytime I got within inches of grabbing her it was like she had a turbo boost that jolted her forward and off she went again. The adventure of parenting is definitely that. One day you think that they can’t come up with anything else new and BOOM…there’s another surprise. It’s like overnight when we parents are staring at their peaceful faces wondering what they’re dreaming about…they are plotting against us. I swear sometimes my daughter reminds me of a real life Stewie Griffen.
